A CHARTERED accountant, Alan joined the club in 1995, before the move to the Riverside Stadium.
As Chief Finanical Officer he is responsible for finance and general administration and is also a member of the club's Executive.
"It's similar to the role of financial director in a service company," he says.
A Boro fan since he was six years old, Alan was born in Redcar and played football as a centre-half in the Teesside and South Bank leagues.
His favourite players are Stuart Boam and Willie Maddren.
"I'm of their era and played when they were in their prime," he says.
