Tom Hands Out The Medals
YOUNG Boro hotshot Tom Craddock presented the medals as Northern champions Walbottle Campus reached the national final of the Minute Maid Schools' Cup semi-finals at the Riverside.
The Tyneside team beat Midlands champions Kenilworth School and Sports College from Warwickshire by a comprehensive 3-0 scoreline.
The surface prepared by head groundsman Tony Bell and his team was in pristine condition and there was an excellent atmosphere in sunny conditions.
Two goals from Liam McNamara and a 30-yard free-kick from Dennis Knight earned the Newcastle team success.
Craddock said: "Tournaments like this are great for the youngsters, playing at stadia like this can only inspire them to go on and become start of the future."
Walbottle take on Glyn Technology School from Epsom in the Minute Maid Schools' Cup final at the Ricoh Arena on May 22.

The Geordie youngsters will be aiming to keep the trophy in the North East after Middlesbrough school Newlands FCJ's win last year.
