A BRIGHT future is forecast for this England youth international goalkeeper from Newton Aycliffe.
Standing 6ft 3ins tall, Jason has represented his country at U16, U17, U19 and U20 level. He was called into the U19 squad in September 2007 just a month after he celebrated his 17th birthday.
In May 2007 he was a key member of the England U17 team that reached the final of the European Championships in Belgium before being bbeaten 1-0 by Spain.
Jason joined Boro at the age of 13 from Newton Aycliffe Sports Club. For his school team he played centre midfield, while his classmate Matthew Atkinson, who also went on to Boro's books, kept goal.
His progress was rewarded when he was named in Boro's first team squad for a pre-season tour of Austria in 2007, although a bout of tendonitis meant he missed the trip.
Jason maintained his progress through the 2008-09 season, at the end of which he played at integral part for England U19s as they progressed to the finals of the UEFA European U19 Championships in Ukraine in July 2009 by topping a play-off group.
He was captain for England's final two qualifying games.
Jason signed a new, three-year Boro contract in May 2009 and played a leading role as captain as England U19s reached the final of the previously mentioned U19s.
Together with Josh Walker, Jason was a member of the England U20 squad which contested the U20 World Cup in Egypt.
After an impressive spell on loan to Northampton Town during the 2009-10 season, Jason returned and produced a Man of the Match performance in his Boro debut, a 2-1 Carling Cup win at Chesterfield in August 2010.
His display earned warm praise from Boro manager Gordon Strachan.
