SCOTLAND international Stephen McManus joined Boro during the January 2010 transfer deadline on loan for the remainder of the season, up to June 2010.
He had previously spent his entire career with Celtic, coming through the Parkhead ranks to score 17 goals in 150 league games after making his debut at the age of 21 in March 2004.
He became a regular in the side in 2005-06 - Strachan's first as Celtic manager - and helped Celtic win three successive Scottish Premier League titles.
McManus also won the Scottish Cup in 2007, together with the Scottish League Cup in 2006 and 2009, while he has gained vast experience in the UEFA Champions League.
Made Celtic club captain by Strachan in 2007, Lanark-born McManus has also captained the full Scotland team and has won 22 international caps for his country.
